Seaspan Head Office

The design of Seaspan’s Head Office is a response to its organizational challenges, uniting the company under one roof.

North Vancouver, BC

Located on a dramatic waterfront site, the head office has a large cantilever over Burrard Inlet. Its subtle butterfly shape opens both to the south, with a view of the company’s tug boats in the harbour, and to the south, with views back to its shipyards. The open plan office provides daylight and views, while the closed offices are used to shield the remainder of users from the harsh western sun. The overall result is an extraordinarily functional and beautiful building, which connects people to both North Vancouver and the entire marine scape of Vancouver, setting the stage for one of the most important industrial campuses in Canada.

Peter Atkinson was the Project Architect and Lead Designer for this project while at DIALOG.
