Our work for Petroglyph Development (a wholly-owned corporation of the Snuneymuxw First Nation) is grounded in their aspiration to realize the economic potential of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, bringing forth their Snuneymuxw Snuw’uyulth, the teachings passed down from their Ancestors and elders, into built form. A primary driver for the project is social and ecological sustainability, so that future residents are provided with meaningful opportunities to connect both to each other and to the land.
A raised central courtyard conceals parking below, while providing space to connect with nature and neighbours.
Colour differentiation and a thickened threshold to the street helps residents connect with the identity of their home.
