The proposed site for the Little Salmon First Nation’s new education and community building lies cradled within a bend in the mighty Yukon River. The project aspires to connect the people to their land, to the river and to each other in a way that builds pride in the community - telling the story of the Nation’s past and looking forward to their future with hope. The form of the building is inspired by the land itself. A large roofscape has elements of protection and connectedness to the earth, while also lifting up to the sky and across to the river.
