Who we are looking for:

We seek a registered, Senior Architect with 8+ years of experience in all project phases. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager and a sophisticated designer, adept at communicating ideas, leading teams, fostering a strong design culture, has solid building technology knowledge and is kind and caring. We require confident leadership skills and a desire to guide and inspire junior members of our team. You bring a dedication to design as well as a sense of comfort and liveability in your project work and guiding ethos.

The person we are looking for believes that design can lead to socially fulfilling lives, that the building and construction industry must address climate change in everything we do, and that excellent design is a process from start-up to the end of construction.

We are dedicated to creating a culture that harness the diverse abilities of everyone on the team. Our projects include residential, mixed-use, cultural centres, institutional work and urban design. Currently on our books we have several large BC Housing projects all the way to small renovation projects, bringing municipal facilities up to Rick Hansen accessibility standards.

Human Studio was founded in 2017. We are a firm of 16 near Olympic Village in a neighbourhood of ice cream and beer. Our office culture is youthful and relaxed, and we work hard to stay connected through collaboration activities and design opportunities.

Job Description: 

You have:

• a minimum 8+ years of experience,

• are AIBC registered,

• an excellent design portfolio,

• strong building technology knowledge,

• strong graphic skills

• a sophisticated knowledge of materials

• strong project management experience,

• experience leading teams of various sizes,

• experience working from Pre-Design through to Close-Out,

• a track-record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and AHJ,

• the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• are also okay with dogs!
  

It would be nice if you also have:

• proficiency with REVIT, Adobe, Rhino, Grasshopper,

• local experience,

• BC Housing Experience,

• experience with Indigenous projects,

• BCBC and VBBL knowledge,

• and LEED, Passive House, RHFAC Certification.
