Zahra Asghari

Zahra is an Intern Architect, AIBC with experience working in Vancouver and Calgary. She has been involved with tenant improvement, mixed-use residential, institutional and cultural projects throughout her career.

She worked closely with the BC Housing on the Rosewood Village Master Planning project, West 7th Social Housing project, 800 Commercial Drive Housing project for Non-Market Housing Development and most recently, 8302 Beatrice.

Throughout her studies, Zahra was an active member of her academic communities, including acting as the Director of For a Feminist Architecture collective at UBC SALA. At Human Studio, she is the Editor of the Studio Journal, where everyone is encouraged to contribute on any subject they are passionate about to add to the discourse and encourage interdisciplinary conversations.

Zahra cares deeply about the impact of sustainable and inclusive architecture on our communities, striving to bring that lens into every project she is involved with. She also led a project for BC Society of Transition Houses’ Women-Centred Design Toolkit.

Her experiences in leadership and activism fuel her passion to create meaningful projects that positively contribute and have a lasting impact on communities.
